Ernst Aeppli

 Ernst Aeppli (28 April 1892 in Brittnau, Canton of Aargau  † 26 August 1954 in Zurich) was a Swiss psychoanalyst (school of Carl Gustav Jung).


After attending the teacher training college in Zurich, Aeppli first worked as a multi-class teacher on the Hasliberg in the Bernese Oberland and then as a teacher at the German School in San Remo. Between 1914 and 1918 he served as a medical corporal and studied at the University of Zurich and with C.G. Jung.

In 1923 he received his doctorate in philosophy. Due to his experience in his practice as a psychologist in Zurich, he was able to publish his knowledge in several works.

In 1923, Ernst Aeppli married Gertrud Susanne Clara, née Zschokke (1896–1973). She was the great-granddaughter of Heinrich Zschokke and the sister of Alexander Zschokke, Peter Zschokke and Achilles Heinrich Zschokke (1893–1971).
